'Talk and Walk' Sept. 16 on Red Rock Canyon's geologic historyA free outdoor presentation on the geologic history of Red Rock Canyon Open Space is scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 16, starting at 5:30 p.m.
The speaker will be Mark Izold, a professor at Pikes Peak Community College. He "will cover the Mesozoic history and geology of the open space [and] discuss conservation of these natural resources at Red Rock Canyon," a press release states.
Called a "Talk and Walk," the event will be followed by a hike in Red Rock. The sponsor is the Friends of Red Rock Canyon.

Working with City Parks, the Friends of Red Rock Canyon supports the open space through advocacy as well as maintenance projects.
