Westside Briefs:
More county offices at Service Center

       Over the next several weeks, additional departments and services are or will be moving to the El Paso County Citizens Service Center that opened this year at 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road.
       These are as follows:
  • Clerk and Recorder (Elections, Sept. 6; Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, Sept. 19; Recording and Motor Vehicle, both Oct. 11).
  • Treasurer, Sept. 20.
  • Assessor, Sept. 20.
  • Public Health, Sept. 28.
  • Pikes Peak Work Force Center, Oct. 11.
           Already at the center is the Department of Human Services, which moved there in March.
           Next to the facility is a free public parking garage, and adjacent to it, on Garden of the Gods Road, are bus stops for Mountain Metro Route 14.
           Alzheimer's group meets
           The regional office of the non-profit Alzheimer's Association offers a monthly caregiver support group at the Westside Community Center, 1628 W. Bijou St., on the first Thursday of each month, from 10 to 11 a.m. For more information, call 266-8773 or email barbara.caudle@alz.org.
