Nov. seen for Red Rock interpretive plan
The final session in an educational series on Red Rock Canyon Open Space will summarize topics from the previous four gatherings and take additional comments
from people Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Pioneers Museum downtown.
The session will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the second floor.
Afterward, Colorado Springs Parks staff will consider any meeting comments with those previously received regarding ways to interpret Red Rock Canyon's offerings for park visitors. A recommended interpretation plan will likely go before the City Parks Advisory Board at its November meeting, said Chris Lieber, the department's development manager.
Speakers in the series, which started in July, provided details about the 788.1-acre property's history, geology, native cultures and biology.
Attendance has been strong, with a standing-room-only crowd of more than 300 attending the paleontology and geology session and an average of 100 overall, Lieber said.
