Another kind of volleyball ‘service’
The spirit of service at Coronado Volleyball is alive and well. The team, for the second consecutive summer, has adopted a very large flowerbed on the south side of the Pioneer's Museum downtown. These young women spent countless hours tending those flowers this summer, and continue to pull weeds and tend the flowers now that school has begun. I'm very proud of their efforts this summer, both in and out of the gym. They are learning the importance of serving our community. They are learning that relationships, hard work and working together (whether lifting weights at 6 a.m. or lifting buckets of weeds in the heat) are more important even than championships.
