Bristol Elementary to hold bond-issue meeting for public Sept. 12

A public meeting on plans for Bristol Elementary's reconstruction work next summer will be Tuesday, Sept. 12, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the schools' gym.
Principal Steve Ferguson said he welcomes input from the public on the $851,500 project, which will develop a remodeled interior, air conditioning and a new electrical system.
The 30,000-square-foot school was built in 1971 in an open-classroom style that no longer meets fire codes. The work will include the installation of permanent walls and corridors.
Project funding is coming from the District 11 bond issue that was approved in 2005. The district will work on design plans with an architectural firm and a committee of school staff and volunteers - some of whom he hopes to find at the meeting, Principal Steve Ferguson said.
For more information, call the school at 328-4000.
