West End P.O. retail closed Aug. 30

The retail windows will be closed at the West End post office and several other stations Saturday, Aug. 30. However, mail will still be delivered and “all box and caller service obligations will be met,” explained Ron Perry, U.S. Postal Service spokesman.
The only area stations handling retail customers that day (though not including passport service) will be those in Green Mountain Falls and Briargate, he said.
The constraints are due to Saturday being the start of the three-day Labor Day weekend. “We project with the holiday, retail traffic will be slow,” Perry said.
The Postal Service will resume normal business operations Tuesday, Sept. 2.
