Meet a Westsider:
Judy Crowley

Profession/Occupation... I am the owner of Art Gallery of the Rockies.

What I like most about the Westside is... I like the sense of timelessness about the Westside with the old Victorian buildings, the historic homes Ė large and small Ė and friendly people. There is a great sense of community and history in the area.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... more renovations/upkeep on some of the neighborhood homes. The homes are beautiful and, when made to look like they did when first built, bring beauty to the area.

A good movie Iíve seen recently is... I love old movies especially those in black and white: ďCitizen Kane.Ē

I'd like to discover... the cause of so much anger and hate in the world.

If I could meet someone famous, Iíd like to meet... Winston Churchill, who was a statesman and artist.

The next time I travel, Iím going... visit my children and grandchildren who live on the East coast.

My favorite childhood memory is... My favorite childhood memories are two when I was about 3 years old... churning butter with my grandmother and gathering eggs with my grandfather.

My favorite summer pastime is... working in my garden and seeing things grow and bloom.

Something good Iíve read is... a book titled ďDirt, the Ecstatic Skin of the Earth,Ē by William Bryant Logan. It explains the origins of soil and how it has affected humans physically and scientifically.

My pet peeve is... human ignorance. Iím not talking about lack of knowlege, Iím talking about people acting ignorant while driving, lack of manners, foul language and disrespecting other peopleís space and property.

If I didnít have to work for a year, I would... Iíd probably work. I love my job. I would take more time off to work on my miniature doll houses and hike and bike with my husband.

Meet a WestsiderĒ is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776.
