Red Rock wildlife, ecology Aug. 23

Two presentations on wildlife and plant ecology are scheduled for an educational session on Red Rock Canyon Open Space Thursday, Aug. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, 215 S. Tejon St.
Elaine Web and Annette Kohnert from the Wild Forever Foundation will talk about the wildlife in Red Rock Canyon, and Don Ellis will offer descriptions of its native plant communities, which range from desert environments to conifer forests.
The session is the fourth in a five-part series that is revealing features of the city-owned open space and its history as part of an effort to develop an Interpretive Master Plan. The series is co-sponsored by the Friends of Red Rock Canyon and Colorado Springs Parks.
For more information, call the Pioneers Museum at 385-5990.
