Free monthly seminars offered by self-defense business in Holland Park area

West Side Krav Maga offers self-defense classes and free, monthly seminars.
The location is the Trampoline World building at 780 Vondelpark Drive. The phone is 357-6097. The website is westsidekravmaga.com.
In its sixth year, Krav Maga is open Tuesdays to Saturdays.
Owners/managers Dean Peterson, Kevin DeRemer and Rusty Smith have a combined 22 years of teaching experience.
According to the website, Krav Maga is Hebrew for “contact combat.”
“We teach various Krav Maga self-defense techniques at the seminars (i.e., punching, kicking, getting out of headlocks and chokes, dealing with knife and gun threats, etc - all done in a safe environment),” Smith explained, noting that the seminar subject changes each month. “No previous martial art/self-defense experience is necessary.”
The weekly classes (cost involved) are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
“Our mission is to teach real world self-defense using a tactical system focused on preparing students mentally and physically to deal with real-life threats,” Smith said.
