Car Show to bring shine to Old Town Aug. 19
The annual Good Times Car Show will return to Old Colorado City Sunday, Aug. 19.
Up to 400 vehicles will be on display along Colorado Avenue and its side streets, which will be closed between 23rd and 27th streets from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., according to plans by the three event-organizing car clubs - the Colorado Cruizers, the Rocky Mountain Mus-tangers and the Southern Colorado Mopars.
The event is free and open to the public.
The car clubs welcome entries from all makes, models and years, including restorations in progress, the Car Show website states. The cost to enter is $30 for the first vehicle, $10 for the second.
Awards will be presented in different categories. Judges will be from the host car clubs.
As in past years, event profits will go to Canine Companions, a national nonprofit that provides trained dogs for people with disabilities. In the first 20 years of the Car Show, a total of $61,000 has been donated, the website states.
