Champion bluegrass band at Rock Ledge

The Sons and Brothers Band, a national champion bluegrass family band from Westcliffe, will perform bluegrass, gospel, and old-time music in a free outdoor concert at the Rock Ledge Ranch at 7 p.m. Friday, August 27.
The show will be the third and final installment in the Ranch's 2004 Summer Acoustic Music Series.
The Sons and Brothers Band, composed of brothers, Mike, Aaron and Joe Wolking, along with their dad, Frank, were the 2004 champions of the National Bluegrass Playoffs recently held at the Huck Finn Jubilee Music Festival at Victorville, Calif. Instruments include mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and guitar.
The group plans a tour of the United Kingdom this December.
For concert attendees, blankets or lawn chairs and a flashlight are recommended. The Sons and Brothers concert will be held rain or shine (moving indoors if it rains).
Another upcoming event at Rock Ledge is Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6 - an old-time baseball game at 1 p.m., plus a Suffragettes rally.
The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, a unit of Colorado Springs Parks, is located off Garden Drive west of 30th Street in the Garden of the Gods Park.
