New place to get in the swing

Co-founders Kara Fabina (left) and Amos Rose demonstrate a move at the weekly dance organized by their business, Front Range Swing and Blues, at the International Dance Club, 2422 Busch Ave. Open to anyone for a $5 cover, the events are Sunday nights from 8:30 to 11 p.m., with a beginners’ class at 7:30. Some of the regular participants are members of swing clubs at local colleges and come to the dances in vintage apparel. “I have a deep appreciation for swing, jazz and blues,” Fabina said. “For me, this has been the biggest bragging right of American contribution to art and culture.” Rose said they chose the location because “it’s a great club [with] one of the best dance floors in the area.”
