Meet a Westsider:
I’m a self-employed, licensed massage therapist. I’ve been in this business for 10 years.
What I like most about the Westside is... being close to the mountains, and there’s far less traffic and congestion here.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to add more family-style restaurants to accommodate larger families, because we’re a large family. We have plenty of fast-food and smaller restaurants.
A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Knight and Day,” with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. They had good chemistry together, very action-packed and thrilling.
I'd like to discover... buried treasure on some deserted island off the Carribean.
If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Oprah Winfrey, and thank her for all the good she’s done for people over the past 20 years.
The next time I travel, I’m going to... Las Vegas, Nev.; Spain and New York City.
My favorite childhood memory is... Family outings at Prospect Lake beach, getting tanned and darker than my siblings (one brother and two sisters). Because they are lighter in skin color than I am, the family joke is that I am adopted. Family nights at the local drive-ins way back when?? Mom would put us kids in our jammies and take us snacks and we’d fall asleep halfway through the movie and we never knew what mom and dad were up to.
My favorite summer pastime is... watching everything turn green and coming alive again after the long and cold winters here. Planting flowers around the house, barbecues, picnics and yearly family garage sales.
Something good I’ve read is... “Watchtower” and “Awake” magazines.
My pet peeve is... people texting and talking on cell phones while they drive.
If I didn’t have to work for a year, I would... bask in the sun in the Carribean.
