A traffic accident shut down the intersection of Fillmore Street and Mesa Road for several hours in the afternoon of July 14.
It wasn't an everyday type of accident.
According to a police officer on the scene, a dump truck driver drove through the intersection with its dumping bed in the upraised position, which snagged a stoplight cable extending across the intersection. Because all the stoplight's cables are interconnected, the result was all of them being pulled down, the officer said.
City crews were making repairs later in the afternoon.
