Former astronaut, International Space Station commander at Discovery Center July 16-18

       Dr. Leroy Chiao, former NASA astronaut and commander of the International Space Station (ISS), will visit the Space Foundation Discovery Center July 16-18.
       Opportunities to meet him will be included with the price of admission to the Discovery Center: $10 for adults, with discounts for students, seniors and military.
       Based in Houston, Chiao is the Space Foundation's special advisor for human spaceflight. His Space Shuttle missions included STS-92 Discovery, Oct. 11-24, 2000; STS-72 Endeavour, Jan. 11-20, 1996; STS-65 Columbia, July 8-23, 1994. In addition, he was flight engineer 1 aboard Soyuz TMA-5 to the ISS, where he served as commander and NASA science officer for Expedition 10. He lived on the ISS for more than six months.
       Chiao's time frames at the Discovery Center will be as follows:
       - Thursday, July 16 - autographs and photos at 2 and 4 p.m.
       - Friday, July 17 - autographs and photos at 11 a.m. and 2 and 3 p.m.
       - Saturday, July 18 - “Audience with an Astronaut” presentation at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
