Adopt-A-Thon July 15-16 at Humane Society

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) will hold its 10th annual Adopt-A-Thon Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16 with the goal of finding homes for the shelter's animals. Fee discounts will be given to people adopting dogs or cats during the event.
The hours will be 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16, at the Humane Society's facility at 610 Abbott Lane.
The Adopt-A-Thon will also include kids' games and crafts and Rover's Rummage Sale, which raises funds for the Humane Society with secondhand pet supplies.
“This is the time of year when we need the community's help most,” said Ann Davenport, HSPPR's Director of Community Resources. “Right now, we've got almost every kennel in the building holding a pet in need of a home, or a lost pet waiting for its family.”
The Adopt-A-Thon will also feature s Safe Place, 4 Paws, the Colorado Reptile Humane Society and Mountain Aire Reptile Rescue.
The Humane Society receives a wide variety of homeless pets, including birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, exotic reptiles and fish.
