Celebrating the Event Centerís new digs
With the carnival for the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo providing a backdrop, area supporters of the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Foundation gathered July 11 for the ribbon-cutting at the new $2 million entry facility (right) outside Penrose Stadium at the Norris-Penrose Event Center. The three-floor building (top floor is open-air) houses ticket offices, concessions and restrooms, as well as rentable space for private groups. The facility and stadium are getting a workout through Sunday, July 16 as more than 500 cowboys compete for prizes in the annual five-day rodeo.
