What do you do?
Pastor Al Pittman
Where do you work and what is your title?
I am the senior pastor of Calvary Worship Center.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I have the privilege of leading a group of believers, who are committed to Christ, into a deeper more intimate relationship with God; through the teaching of His word.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
I have been blessed to be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ for 33 years. We have been on the Westside for 10 years.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
Seeing lives changed and watching people living life to their fullest potential in Christ.
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
There’s nothing I would really change because I believe that I’m exactly where God wants me. It would be nice, however, to have a few more acres for our church property.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
Corporate real estate acquisitions. With our new building project, almost completed, this would have been helpful.
What makes working on the Westside special?
The people, the scenery and the culture. The Westside has been a well-kept secret that’s starting to get out. My wife Norma and I love the Westside; we are truly blessed to be called here.
“What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesn’t live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
