Political cartoonist Chuck Asay to speak at Posse dinner meeting July 11

Nationally known political cartoonist Chuck Asay, who lives on the Westside, will speak at the monthly meeting of the Pikes Peak Posse of the Westerners Monday, July 11.
       Titled “Chuck Asay, Colorado Cartoonist Extraordinaire,” the program will begin at 6 p.m. in the Colorado Springs Masonic Hall, 1130 Panorama Drive.
       Admission is $17, which includes a casual, buffet style dinner before the presentation. Reservations are requested in advance at 473-0330 or posse@dewittenterprises.com.
       According to a press release, Asay "will feature some of his 'Colorado' creations, sharing some of the stories behind the drawings. He always welcomes questions, discussion, as well as controversy!"
       Now retired, Asay was a staff cartoonist for the Gazette and previously drew for the Colorado Springs Sun, Denver Post and Taos News.
