Meet a Westsider:
Michelle O’Neill

Profession/Occupation... I’m a senior representative for Frequent Flyer Services/InsideFlyer magazine.

What I like most about the Westside is... What’s not to like? The homes have a unique charm, the parks are beautiful, tons of wildlife are in your front or back yard (minus the skunks), it’s close to High-way 24 and I-25, and there’s fellowship from neighbors all around. It’s old-school, filled with history and great memories.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to take some of the not-so-well-kept homes and yards in and around the area and make them more beautiful.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... An avid movie goer, I saw “Fast 5” (Fast and Furious), “Water for Elephants,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.” All terrific!

I'd like to discover... every part of Colorado I have yet to go to. This is such an awesome state!

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... I would love to have met Ronald Reagan. Not only (in my opinion) was he a great president, he was a genuinely good and loving man. A male figure for all men to look up to.

The next time I travel, I’m going... I just came back from whitewater rafting. It was great! Aside from that, I have no idea, but I look forward to whatever comes up. And I’m sure that wherever somewhere is I will have the time of my life.

My favorite childhood memory is... I have many, but one that always brings a smile to my face and amplifies my love for the rain is the time when a bunch of neighbor kids and I played in a huge rainstorm. We lived on a hill, and the water was rushing so fast and so full that it was spilling over the sidewalks, creating these huge airborne streams of water. As if we couldn’t get any wetter, we took off our shoes filled them with water and blasted the closest friend. Ahhhh, the good ole days! That and being with my dad during some pretty nasty storms, both rain and snow. He would take pictures of the lightning and pull stranded people out of ditches and roadsides.

My favorite summer pastime is... I have to admit that summer is not my favorite season, but I most enjoy keeping cool at my best girlfriend’s pool or tucked away in the mountains beside a stream.

Something good I’ve read is... My son has a 5-month old American bulldog, so I have been reading lots of training books/articles along with breed books. She’s adorable and ALL puppy!

My pet peeve is... I have three big ones; bad customer service (rudeness in general), not being on time and aggressive drivers.

If I didn’t have to work for a year, I would... travel to find my inner beach bum, take cooking classes representing the region I am visiting and finish painting the inside of my house.
