Rock Ledge Ranch's annual Independence Day event July 4

The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site will hold its annual Family 4th Friday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will include a Revolutionary War encampment, children's games, live patriotic music by the Fountain Creek Brass Band (from noon to 1 p.m.) and appearances/speeches by historical figures, including Katharine Lee Bates, Teddy Roosevelt, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
Admission is $8 for adults, with discounts for seniors, teens, younger children and active military. Also open will be the city-owned facility's "living history" locations - the American Indian area, Galloway Homestead, Rock Ledge House and Chambers Farm, Orchard House and blacksmith shop.
Concessions are available on site, but attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic lunches and lawn chairs.
The ranch parking lot is off Gateway Road west of 30th Street.
