Appreciated Pioneer’s coverage
I want to express my deep gratitude to the Westside Pioneer for the publicity you gave Harris Group Realty's 7th Annual Dump & Donate Day this past Saturday. As people came to drop off recyclable materials, dump unusable items in dumpsters, leave donations of gently used clothing and furniture, or take advantage of the chipper the Colorado Springs Fire Department operated to turn branches and tree limbs into mulch, we asked them how they heard about our annual event. Over and over again, the answer was “we read about it in the Westside Pioneer.” This year's event was a phenomenal success. We filled two 30-yard dumpsters, filled almost two trucks with mulch, collected over a ton of recyclable materials, and filled a truck with donations. In today's world, the emphasis is on “tweeting,” Facebook and texting messages to get the word out about upcoming events. The Westside Pioneer proves that the “old fashioned” method of providing great journalism is still a valued tool. Thank you Kenyon, Therese and the rest of the staff of the Westside Pioneer for providing us with outstanding journalism week after week. You are a true Westside treasure!
