Never to get lost again

A naturally hairless, bicolored Sphynx named Peppe was one of several cats that people brought to Happy Cats Haven (a volunteer-run rescue shelter at 1412 S. 21st Street) to have a small microchip installed as part of Happy Cats’ open house June 10. The device helps cats be traced if they stray. With Peppe is owner Debbie Polelli (left) and volunteer Betty Tweeden. The shelter houses and trains homeless cats and is continually seeking adopters for them. The open house resulted in “one adoption, one hold and another pretty definite commitment,” said Sara Ferguson, a Happy Cats coordinator.
