Park, nature focus in new 'Adventure' series at Garden of the Gods Visitor Center

The “Gateway Adventure Series” is a new offering at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center on first and third Fridays at 10 a.m.
Started earlier this month, the program features “top naturalists, interpreters, historians and many special guests [leading] demonstrations, walks and hikes,” a press release states. “The series informs and educates the community on the many unique aspects of Garden of the Gods Park while encouraging environmental awareness of the national natural landmark.”
There is no charge, but donations are "gratefully accepted,” the release adds. Reservations are necessary at 219-0108.
Here is the schedule through August, all starting at 10 a.m. (Visitor Center meeting place is in parentheses):
       · Friday, July 1, “Theio - The Garden of the Gods Dinosaur,” by Wes Hermann (Red Rocks Room).
       · Friday, July 15, “Our Amazing Honey Ants,” by Bret Tennis (Red Rocks Room).
       · Friday, August 5, “Live Wolf Presentation,” by Mark Johnson (Red Rocks Room).
       · Friday, August 19, “Hiking the Garden of the Gods Geology,” with Jay Temple (lower lobby)
