Former astronauts at Space Foundation

       Two former astronauts - Col. Donald R. McMonagle, USAF, Ret., and Col. Gary E. Payton, USAF, Ret. - will be at the Space Foundation Discovery Center, 4425 Arrowswest Drive, to tell their stories Saturday, June 22.
       Payton will speak from 2 to 2:30 p.m. and again from 4 to 4:30, while McMonagle is scheduled 12:30 to 1 p.m.
       The center is a just-opened, 17,000-square-foot area in the Space Foundation building off Garden of the Gods Road, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It includes numerous space-travel exhibits, the high-tech Science on a Sphere and, on Saturdays, special interactive activities geared for children.
       This Saturday, according to a Space Foundation press release, there will also be giveaways of the new book, “The Astronaut Wives Club: A True Story,” by Lily Koppel.
       Cost of admission is $9, with discounts for children, elderly and some others.
       The theme for June 25-29, will be "Blue Planet - Green Living."

       27th Silver Key Run
       Led by the Pikes Peak Harley Owners Group (PPHOG), area motorcyclists will make their
       27th annual Silver Key Run Saturday, June 29.
       Riders on any kind of motorcycles are welcome.
       Supported by supply vehicles to carry their purchases, participants will stop at different stores to buy food to stock the Silver Key Senior Services pantry during a roughly five-hour ride through the region that winds up at the nonprofit facility, 2250 Bott Ave.
       The ride will start at the Pikes Peak Harley Davidson, 5867 N. Nevada Ave., between 8:30 and 10 a.m.

       Medicare info sessions
       Silver Key Senior Services, 2250 Bott Ave., is partnering with United Health Care to provide free educational forums around Medicare options.
