Meet a Westsider:
N. Rioux Jordan

Profession/Occupation... Student at Colorado State University.

What I like most about the Westside is... the scale of it. Everything is close together and you basically never need to leave it to get anything. Plus the terrain changes: We have hills and valleys.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... the Cimarron/1-25 interchange. Plain and simple, that whole interchange doesn’t work right and if it were fixed, many of the traffic issues on Highway 24 would be solved, too.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “Star Trek: Into Darkness.” It’s a good action movie filled with character-developing moments and references to previous Star Trek movies and shows.

I'd like to discover... a method in which we can maintain a representative government while also having a truly efficient and effective government at the same time.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Calvin Coolidge. It might be a quiet meeting, but I think his budget expertise might really help us now.

The next time I travel, I’m going... camping probably, in one of the many campgrounds in the public land surrounding the city. Maybe 11-Mile Canyon.

My favorite childhood memory is... making movies with my friends for school projects and contests such as the PTA Reflections art programs.

My favorite summer pastime is... trail-building and maintenance with my parents and brother for the Intemann Trail Committee. It’s a great way to exercise and give back to the community somehow.

Something good I’ve read is... Recently, I’ve been reading “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” by Ernest Hemingway. It’s a very interesting look at the Spanish Civil War.

My pet peeve is... Anytime people talk down to others because they assume less knowledge or intelligence. It’s better if everyone just respects everyone else.

If I won the lottery I’d... put most of it into savings and help make sure my family is set for life.
