Coffee lounge opens on Colbrunn

       Jives Coffee Lounge recently opened at 16 Colbrunn Court.
       Open daily from morning until late at night, the business offers “a happening hang-out environment for anyone ranging from the college student to the business man to the family out for a stroll on lovely Colorado Avenue,” according to owner Randy Fair.
       Coffees from around the world are available. People can also buy fruit smoothies, sandwiches and baked goods.
       Featured will be local musicians on weekends and poetry readings on Tuesdays.
       The family operation includes Randy's son Paul.

       Fair-trade enterprise
       Founded two years ago as an online sales venue, Yobel Market recently established a storefront at 2528B W. Colorado Ave.
       Open daily, the fair-trade enterprise specializes in accessories, baskets, jewelry, coffee, cocoa and t-shirts from 10 different countries.
       The owners/founders are Donovan Kennedy and Sarah Ray
       “Yobel” is a hebrew word for “jubilee.”

       Art demonstrations
       The Squash Blossom gallery is offering free demonstrations by exhibiting local artists Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
       Among the artists are Laurel Bahe, Donna Dellacroce, Fide, Rebekah Valentine and Jo Gaston.
