Free, guided bat walks at Garden of the Gods on Tuesday evenings; reservations needed

It's baseball season, but it won't be Rockies games to which volunteer bat specialist Jeanne McElderry will be leading tours this summer.
Her free “Bat Walks” will guide people into gathering areas for nocturnal flying mammals Tuesday evenings from June 14 to Aug. 30 in the Garden of the Gods.
       Reservations are required.
After a preview talk at 6:30 p.m.the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center, walkers will “proceed to the Garden to view the nightly flight,” a press release states. “This enriching program is one of the most popular during the summer months.”
Other regular programs being offered at the Visitor Center include touch tables, guided walks, nature presentations and talks by historical reenactors.
The center is at 1805 N. Garden of the Gods Road. For more information, call 219-0108. The website is gardenofgods.com.
