Westside Politickin': D-3 county commissioner candidate hosts ice cream social

El Paso County District 3 Commissioner candidate Karen Cullen will host an ice cream social Saturday, June 11 at the Gold Hill Mesa Community Center.
The free “meet and greet” event will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., a press release states. The address is 142 S. Raven Mine Drive.
Cullen will face off in the June 28 Republican primary election against Stan VanderWerf.
Also scheduled to appear at the social, according to the release, will be “celebrity guests” Teddy Roosevelt and Buffalo Bill Cody (played by local reenactors).
The winner of the Republican primary will go up against Democrat candidate Electra Johnson in November. Westside resident/business owner Sallie Clark, a Republican, has held the D-3 slot for 12 years, but is term-limited.
