Man charged with late-night GoG gunfire; no one injured

Repeated gunshots in the Garden of the Gods woke the Grandview neighborhood residents in the wee hours of June 3.
No one was injured, and no damage has been found so far to any Garden rock formations, according to Pat Rigdon, commander of the Colorado Springs Police Gold Hill Division.
Police arrested Brandon Bougades on charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.
“During a search of the park, officers located approximately 150 spent shell casings/rounds,” the Police Blotter states.
The blotter adds that Bougades was using a semi-automatic handgun and a pump-action shotgun and he was shooting at two rock formations.
Investigating officers “reported nearly being struck by several of the rounds that appeared to be ricocheting off of the park's rock formations,” the blotter states.
The location was the south part of the Garden of the Gods, uphill from Grandview, near the 0 to 100 block of Las Piedras Escondidas.
A few residents expressed dissatisfaction afterwards that no felony charges were filed. But Rigdon commented, “In order for this to be a felony, Mr. Bougades would have had to fire into an occupied vehicle or a dwelling, or threaten someone with the weapon.”
