Early Colleges info; CHS publication teamwork
Informational meetings for Colorado Springs Early Colleges - a state-chartered four-year high school - will be offered on two upcoming Saturdays, June 5
and June 26.
Both sessions will start at 9 a.m. at the school offices on the Colorado Technical Center campus, 4435 N. Chestnut St.
The school, which gives students the chance to earn two free years of college credits before graduation, has 50 to 60 openings for the 2010-11 school year, according to school founder/director Keith King.
The official enrollment for the just-completed school year was 458. The school, which has no attendance area, had started in 2007 with about 300 students from around the region.

The yearbook and newspaper at Coronado High School will combine under a new Publications area, starting with the 2010-11 school year.
English teacher Angela Banfield, who for the past two years has supervised the student newspaper, the Cougar Chronicle, will take on the yearbook as well. Efficiencies should result through teamwork in advertising, event coverage and use of school equipment, she said.
