Work to start on Uintah Walgreens this fall
Construction of a new, free-standing Walgreens store at the Uintah Gardens shopping center is scheduled to start early this fall, with the opening sometime in the first
quarter of 2007.
Tiffany Bruce, a Walgreens spokesperson in Illinois, said the new store will vacate a 12,000-square-foot storefront - part of a connected row of commercial spaces at the shopping center - where it has done business since 1974. To make room for the new, 14,560 square-foot Walgreens, a free-standing set of commercial, currently unused spaces on the Uintah Gardens property - one of which formerly housed a Furr's Cafeteria - will be torn down, according to the plans.
