It should be the 34th annual T-Days
First I want to tell you that I enjoy Territory Days and reading the Westside Pioneer very much. However I want to point out that its organizers still have the “annual” number wrong. Assuming the event has taken place every year from 1975 to this year of 2008, this year will actually mark the 34th Territory Days. This is a very common error as time goes by. It seems simple enough - first year is 1975, this year is 2008, just subtract: 2008 minus 1975 equals 33 years.
This happens in sports also. Player X played for the Broncos from 1975 through 1978; therefore he played three years for the Broncos. (Actually, Player X played four years: 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978.) Similar situation here in counting events!
       For any nonbelievers out there, just list it: 1975 #1 Territory Days, 1976 #2, 1977 #3, 1978 #4, 1979 #5, 1980 #6, 1981 #7, 1982 #8, 1983 #9, 1984 #10, 1985 # 11, 1986 #12, 1987 #13, 1988 #14, 1989 #15, 1990 #16, 1991 #17, 1992 #18, 1993 #19, 1994 #20, 1995 #21, 1996 #22, 1997 #23, 1998 #24, 1999 #25, 2000 #26, 2001 #27, 2002 #28, 2003 #29, 2004 #30, 2005 #31, 2006 #32, 2007 #33, 2008 34th Territory Days! Just think of them as Super Bowls!
Keep up the good work, Territory Days organizers, but please, let's get the correct number of years it has taken place!
