Bijou School student at conference

       Victor Leal, a Bijou School junior enrolled in the AVP radio/television production program at Pikes Peak Community College, has been selected to represent PPCC at the 47th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City June 19-24.
       Included in the conference will be a competition in a variety of career fields, including audio/radio production, in which Leal will participate.
       In all, the conference will number more than 15,000 people, including students, teachers and business partners.
       The Bijou School is an alternative high school at 2904 W. Kiowa St.
       Diamond award to Haffley
       Jill Haffley of Coronado High has been announced as a winner of the Diamond Award for teaching excellence this school year. A nomination for this award can be made by students at each of the District 11 high schools, with the final selections by the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs.
