Proposed Bear Creek equestrian skills course topic of public meeting May 27

El Paso County Parks will host a community meeting Wednesday, May 27 to take public comments on a proposed equestrian skills course in Bear Creek Regional Park.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Bear Creek Nature Center, 245 Bear Creek Road.
Such a facility was included in the updated master plan for Bear Creek Regional Park recently approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
The course is planned on the east side of the park near South Eighth Street. According to a press release, it “will include components that develop essential equestrian skills and confidence to safely ride area trails.”
A friends group has offered to help build the course. The meeting will review the draft memorandum of understanding between County Parks and the friends group.
For more information, call Parks at 520-6375.
