Westside Briefs:
Second City improvisers at Unity Church

Five actors trained by the Second City group in Chicago will offer an improvisational workshop at the Unity Church in the Rockies Sunday, May 23.
During its stay here, the group will also be performing at the Manitou Art Theatre (MAT), 1367 Pecan St., May 21-22 as part of MAT's second annual Improv Festival.
The Unity Church is at 1945 Mesa Road. The workshop will be from 1 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. performance, according to Dana McLaren of the church, whose son is one of the Second City actors.
The cost of the workshop is $50 until May 16; after that it will be $75. Anyone is welcome.
Second City has gained past notoriety as a springboard for later-famous comedians such as Bill Murray and Chris Farley.
For more information, call McLaren at 217-4268.
Summer camp volunteers are needed at the Catamount Institute. This month's volunteer training session will be Wednesday, May 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Beidleman Center, 740 W. Caramillo St.
