Meet a Westsider:
Owner/partner of The Jave Buddha Coffeehouse.
What I like most about the Westside is... the fact that it’s a small community of friendly and open-minded people who take pride in their small part of the world.
If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... the rampant crystal meth use and the individuals who contribute to its distribution.
A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I don’t own a TV, but the last movie I saw was “Snatch,” at a friend’s house. It was very funny.
The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... “Say 10 hail Marys and ask God for forgiveness.” your priest or minister is a conduit to God.
If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Mahatma Ghandhi or the Dali Lama. I would love to sit for a period of time and talk with either.
The next time I travel, I’m going to... Salem, Massachusetts, to visit family and friends.
My favorite childhood memory is... Walking along the ocean at night, under a full moon with my mother.
My favorite summer pastime is... touring New England maple syrup farms, tasting homemade pancakes and 100 percent pure maple syrup.
Something good I’ve read is.. Bhagavad Gita As It Is,” by A.C. Prabhupada; and “Jivamukti Yoga,” by Sharon Gannon & David Life. Both are extremely powerful and life-enhancing books.
My pet peeve is... proselytizing people who pretend to listen but cannot hear anything but their own voice. People who hate anyone who, as it would often happen, fall into the same category as the first.
If I won the lottery, I’d... start a humanitarian organization that feeds and clothes and provides medical care to children and families here in the U.S,. where it is also needed very much.
