Whittlers club offers 33rd annual show at Shrine Club May 21-22

       The Pikes Peak Whittlers will sponsor their 33rd annual Woodcarving and Woodworking Show and Competition the weekend of May 21-22 at the Colorado Springs Shrine Club, 6 S. 33rd St.
       The times will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
       According to a press release, “Local woodworkers will compete in over 40 categories of carving and woodcraft. There will be 50 tables of displays, as well as sales of wood, patterns, tools, and carvings.”
       Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and military, and free for any Scouts in uniform or children under 12 with an adult.
       The judge will be Chris Hammack, a whittler with 30 years experience who specializes in the “cowboy lifestyle,” the release states.
       The Pikes Peak Whittlers meet monthly, to “promote the art of carving through education, sharing, and competition,” the release notes. For more information, contact John Armstrong at 590-8694 or armsfam@aol.com.
