Lincoln assassination reenactment

       SAIL students in social studies and language arts at West Middle School will present a reenactment of the Lincoln assassination in three shows Monday, May 13 (1:05, 3:05 and 7 p.m.).
       Written by seventh-grade SAIL students, the free performances will be at the school, 1920 W. Pikes Peak Ave. The scope includes a “background of the plot to kill the president and the hunt for John Wilkes Booth,” according to SAIL social studies teacher Larry Christison.
      
       CHS sports fundraiser
       Entrants are welcome for a Friday, May 17 golf tournament to raise money for Coronado High's Tom Rogers Athletic Scholarship Fund and the school football program.
       The third annual Coronado Cougar Football Golf Invitational will be at Fort Carson's Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club.
       The scholarship gives $1,000 each to a Coronado boy and girl student with financial needs who demonstrates high character.
       Tom Rogers was a long-time Coronado sports supporter who died of cancer three years ago.
       The cost to enter the tournament (a four-man scramble) is $110 each.
