West Center publishes summer brochure

The West Intergenerational Center's new summer brochure offers opportunities for adults to pick up a foreign language, gain computer skills, learn to dance, explore the arts, improve their health/wellness or go on organized excursions.
Teens can study rock climbing, boxing, hip-hop and cooking, or make a solar-powered car model. Younger kids have options for camps, different types of dance, or to find out about detective work or dinosaurs.
The classes are offered through the center by either West or School District 11. The community center is at 25 N. 20th St.
Varying fees are charged, and preregistration is necessary (first come, first served).
Also in the brochure are details about on-going senior activities and emergency assistance through the Pikes Community Action Agency and Billie Spielman Community Center.
Not all of D-11's summer classes at West are shown in the brochure. For a complete list - including such possibilities as medieval swordplay, quilting, money management, wellness/health and tennis - call 520-2384 or go to www.d11.org/communityed.
