Meet a Westsider:
Kim Walsh

Profession/Occupation... Office Manager for Lowenstein Chiropractic for about seven years.

What I like most about the Westside is... it smells fresh and the people are very friendly. The first time someone waved at me on my street I didn't know what to do. I lived on the east side of town and the people seemed less friendly and helpful.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... the size and price of house rentals. I rent a small three-bedroom, one-bath, and the lot it sits on is very nice, I just wish it had flowers. I miss my flowers from our old house.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... Hmm… I think the Hallmark movie “Beyond the Blackboard”; it was about a teacher at a low-income facility helping the children and the adults.

I'd like to discover... a new way to make cars that could run on water. Gas is too expensive!

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... John Wayne, the actor. When I was a little girl, I told my Dad and Mom, “When I get old enough I'm going to marry him,” but it didn't happen. So I would like to meet Kenny Chesney. I love his songs.

The next time I travel, I’m going... Greece. I have never been overseas, and I love the sound of the ocean, blue water and older buildings. It would be interesting to walk down the streets and learn about their history.

My favorite childhood memory is... I have a few, but my favorite would have to be spending our family summers at Twin Lakes, at Bond's cabin, fishing, finding frogs, boating and playing in the sand. It was a great time to be a kid.

My favorite spring pastime is... sitting in the sun and letting it soak into me, watching birds and wildlife, flowers and trees ready to bud open – everything opening up to a new beginning.

Something good I’ve read is... I have an inspiration book my sister gave me and I flip through pages when I need a little inspiration.

My pet peeve is... people that do not use their turn signals and do not wear seatbelts. I would love to have a bumper sticker that says “Are you out of blinker fluid!”

If I didn’t have to work for a year, I would... I’d probably go nuts, but if I had to take off I would get some projects done, knit or do something crafty. I just have to keep my hands busy.
