Merchants offer free shuttle to concert

If you're driving to the Jefferson Starship concert… don't. Instead, drive to the Coronado High School parking lot, 1590 W. Fillmore St., where a continuous shuttle bus will give you a free ride to Old Colorado City.
The concert, also free, will have warm-up bands near 27th Street on closed-off Colorado Avenue from noon to 5:30 p.m., at which time the Starship is scheduled to go on stage for a three-hour set that will wrap up the event.
A bus with 45-seat capacity will start running at 2 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. The shuttle service, as well as the concert, is sponsored by the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) merchants group.
According to Theresa Barbera, an OCCA board member, at the end of the concert there will be extra buses to handle the crowd, starting at 8 p.m.
Because the shuttles will be continuous, there are no set pickup/drop-off times. But Barbera estimated that the intervals at Coronado normally won't exceed 15 minutes.
