New dates set for four snowed-out Westside events

       Four activities/projects that were scheduled for Saturday, April 24 had to be rescheduled because of the snow. Here is a list of the new dates:
       · Erosion control project at the Garden of the Gods by the Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI) - to Saturday, May 1 , from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (The group also has workdays May 8-9, although volunteer pre-registratration is full for those days.) 471-7736.
       · Home repairs by Rebuilding Together volunteers at various locations on the Westside - to Saturday, May 1. 634- 4115.
       · Workday to revegetate unauthorized trail in Section 16 and Red Rock Canyon by Intemann Trail Committee, Colorado Mountain Club and El Paso County Parks Department - to Saturday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No pre- registration is necessary. Tools will be provided. Workers need to bring a lunch, water, and gloves. 473-4143.
       · “Big Bear Day” at El Paso County's Bear Creek Nature Center - to Sunday, June 20, from noon to 4 p.m. 520- 6388.
       In the e-mail to volunteers from Liz Nichol of RMFI, she states at the end, “Much as we're sorry to not get the work done on Saturday [April 24], we LOVE all this moisture!”
