History Center talk May 9 on region's Spanish colonial and Hispanic arts

       Katie Gardner, former curator at the Pioneers' Museum and collections specialist at the Fine Arts Center, will give a presentation Friday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St.
       Her subject will be Spanish colonial and Hispanic culture in the Colorado Springs region, according to a press release from the Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS), a nonprofit volunteer group that owns and operates the History Center.
       Gardner is the author of "Woven Across Time: The Rich Legacy of Colorado's Hispanic Textile Tradition," which accompanied a weaving exhibit at the Colorado Historical Society.
       Her talk will include slides and an “exhibit of the cultural arts,” the press release adds.
       Admission is $5 to people who are not OCCHS members.
