What do you do?
Tracy Ritter

Where do you work and what is your title?
I am the bank manager for the Bank at Broadmoor, Westside.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I oversee all of the operations at my location, assist with any customer needs and manage our merchant service program.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
I have been working in the banking industry just over 10 years. Most of that time has been here on the Westside.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
I love helping people and getting to know them. By working in the financial industry you get to help out folks during the good times and bad. I like knowing I am making a difference in their lives.
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
Invent “Outdoor Banking.” On beautiful days I wish that I could move my desk outside and work in the sunshine.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
Compassion. It’s a necessary ingredient when working with customers. I’ve learned over the years to really listen between the lines for customer needs and how to best help them. It takes heart and understanding.
What makes working on the Westside special?
The Westside is home to me. I grew up in this area and attended the local schools. Working in familiar territory gives me a sense of belonging. I also get to see people that I have known through the years and get updates on their families.

“What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesn’t live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
