Descendant of AdAmAn co-founders to speak on 'Frozen 5' at History Center May 9

A descendant of two of the five men who originated the AdAmAn Club will present an hour-long program Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St.
Sponsored by the Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS), the presentation is titled "The Original Frozen Five - the Founding of the AdAmAn Club."
The event cost is $5 for non-OCCHS members.
The speaker will be Steve Morath, whose grandfather Fred and uncle Ed were part of that first group to climb Pikes Peak on New Year's Eve and light railway flares to mark the start of 1923.
The club has continued ever since, adding a new man (or woman) to the climb each year.
Steve Morath is an artist living in Manitou Springs.
“The Morath family members are long-time residents of Colorado Springs and southern Colorado,” a press release states. “Steve will provide a personal story-time reflection.”
For more information, call the OCCHS at 636-1225.
