ODES TO THE CODES: On ‘bandit signs’
By Mary Jane Lujan
This week's article from Colorado Springs Code Enforcement is about “bandit signs.” Sign locations that are always illegal are light poles, light boxes, city trees, traffic signs and medians.
A sign can be put in the ground on a public right of way between the sidewalk and curb at any time if a permit has been issued by Sue Matz of City Zoning. Otherwise, such signs are illegal - except on a temporary basis between Friday at noon and Monday at noon.
