Cleaning up the county April 27

       El Paso County government will host “Tackle the Trash” Saturday, April 27.
       Civic organizations, churches, scout groups, schools, and individuals are encouraged to participate, a press release states.
       Bear Creek Regional Park (El Paso County Park Headquarters at 2002 Creek Crossing) will be one of four volunteer check-in sites beginning at 9 a.m.
       Trash bags and safety vests will be provided. Youths under 16 must be supervised by an adult.

       Also scheduled April 27:
       The Friends of Bear Creek Dog Park - cleanup of the County Dog Park at Rio Grande and 21st streets from 10 a.m. to noon.
       The Organization of Westside Neighbors (OWN) - maintenance of adopted section of Midland Trail from 9 to 10 a.m. The meeting place will be Vermijo Park, at 26th and Vermijo streets.
       Helping help new drivers
       A free class for parents of teenagers about to drive will be offered April 18 and again May 16 at the Colorado Springs Police Department's Gold Hill Division, 955 W. Moreno Ave.
       The one-hour session will be taught by Drive Smart Colorado.
