Xeriscape classes offered

Xeriscape classes are being offered by Colorado Springs Utilities starting in April at its Xeriscape Garden facility, 2855 Mesa Road.
The classes, which teach the basics of xeriscaping, will help people qualify for rebates of up to $600 from Utilities, according to spokesperson Rachel Beck. The rebates reimburse people for some of their costs in converting all or part of a yard into xeriscaped (low-water-need) vegetation, she said.
The classes cost $75 for nine hours of classroom time.
The first of the classes will be April 22. Some classes are scheduled in the daytime, others in the evening.
