Meet a Westsider:
Patty Barnes

Profession/Occupation... Owner of Rocky Mt. Natural Store & Organic Produce Co-op.

What I like most about the Westside is... the small- town atmosphere within this large city.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to slow growth.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I don’t go to movies, but my daughter loaned me “Pay It Forward.” I thought it had a wonderful message. The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... to use my personal credit cards in business.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Helen Keller. As a young girl, I was fascinated with her life. I found her to be an incredible person with a drive to overcome any obstacle.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... Fort Collins to meet my first grandchild!

My favorite childhood memory is... going to a small lake in Michigan where my family would vacation at a cottage for a week.

My favorite winter pastime is... to snuggle at home and really get into my crafts.

Something good I’ve read is.. I have a renewed interest in herbs and their medical properties. “Growing 101 Herbs that Heal,” by Tammy Hartung.

My pet peeve is... when in traffic someone is so impatient that they can’t wait in a traffic jam, like everyone else, but they have to drive to the front of the line and force their way in.

If I won the lottery, I’d... stock our store with all the inventory that my customers request and our store could handle, then, I would go on a vacation.

Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776.
